Review
I have been dying to get my hands on this for ages and when I finally came across it for under £15.00 I couldn't resist any longer. I finally had a day off to read it yesterday and from the moment I started reading I could not put it down until It was finished.

I have been a student of the Occult for as long as I have been a student of conjuring and to me Bizarre Magick is (when performed correctly) the field where the two can meet. Capricornian Tales contains 23 beautifully thought out and constructed routines and the first of them 'Zodiac' is easily worth twice the price of the book alone. I have been looking for a 'whats your sign?' effect that I can use for a while, and I have finally found it here.

The book is divided into five chapters containing between two and six effects in each, which are as follows.

Chapter one - Soothsaying. Effects with cards

Chapter two - Far countries. Bizarre effects from around the world

Chapter three - Devil's and Curses. Demonic effects.

Chapter four - Spirits and Initiations. Esoteric tales and stories from the otherside.

Chapter five - Mentalism. as the chapter title suggests.

I will only perform two or three of the routines in this book, but for me that more than justifies the purchase price.

I should probably say something negative about the book at this point...
I had to wait for over a week for it to be delivered (due to royal mail) apart from that there is not a bad word I can say about. If you are interested in adding a dimension to your magic and have a taste for the Bizarre then buy this book.

10/10

Absolutely. I've been working my way through europe and the only reason I'm still alive to post this is because of Zodiac.

However I'd have to say my personal favouret is 'Freemans Wing' simply because when I performed it, it was the first time I truely performed Bizzar magic. One of the people said to me 'I didn't belive that tarot magic was real, now I'm not so sure.'

Sadly I haven't had much luck recreating that moment. The planets must have been perfectly aligned that night.

(Also I'm sure I've misspelled a couple of things here You'll have to forgive me as I'm using a public computor and trying to fight off exsahstion)

What routine are you exactly talking about ? 'Freeman Wing' doesn't exist in Capricornian tales... Did you mispell it ? Thanks for clarifying.

it's a tarot effect, I can't actually remember what it's called but Freman's wing is part of the method. Although there's a chance I got it from Thoth tarot trickery, I do know that both books share at least one tarot effect.

Brilliant book. I doubt I will ever perform anything from it, but it was a fascinating read!

This is one of the best books out there.
Especially his focus on verbal subtleties and psychological gambits.

I got this book a few months ago now. I was really impressed with it! It's the 1st book I read in this style - It doesn't have 'The Effect', 'The Method' etc, it's all written as stories from memories. A rather intriguing and imaginative way to put across the 'magic'.
Like others though, I can only see myself doing one or two of these effects. But the inspiration that has come from this book is priceless. All I need now is a much larger collection of curious curiosities!

I think other than perhaps one or two items, it is a fascinating READING book. I'm glad I bought it, purely for the enjoyment of reading, not to do with the usuable content.(For me personally.)
