Black Tiger deck

Postby the_mog » Apr 27th, '04, 10:01

From Ellusionist.com

$6.99 a deck and $10 airmail from the US

are they worth the cash?

DEFINATELY!

quite simply the coolest deck around at the moment, from the black tuck case with the snarling tiger hanging off the B and E to the all black and white faces and backs. You also get a duplicate card and a "normal" face 3 of clubs for colour changes etc

Also the quality is exceptional... VERY slippery and easy to fan, better quality than Tally Ho's and should last a long time if looked after

the downside however is that you have to look at the suits rather than just seeing red or black you now have to pay attention! But i think i can live with that

this may well be the only time i say this but this time i think ellusionist is actually on to a winner!

yeah i was surprised about the jokers...the QH was the duplicate card in mine also so im guessing its a standard thing....now all we need to do is work out a routine involving a black Queen of Hearts..... hmmmmmmm got me thinking now... hehe

I've just seen these on an online auction site for £8.00 - does that work out cheaper than your current imports? Maybe there's somewhere in the UK getting them and trialing demand through the auction. :?:

(Am I allowed to say that?)

well it would depend on how many you bought from ellusionist... it worked out at about £20 for the three decks including airmail so its still cheaper from ellusionist BUT the first run was only 10,000 decks im told so maybe the person on ebay is hoping that there could be a collecter type of status on the decks and hopes it will bump the price up?

The Ellusionist website suggests that anyone who has a spare deck or two out of the first batch should hold on to them as collectors' items - presumably they would also like it if you bought more to replace the ones you are holding on to!

now all we need to do is work out a routine involving a black Queen of Hearts...

The Black Hearted Queen, any chance of working in something to do with Snow White and the Wicked Queen somewhere?

If not you can sing the song about waiting ages for your photos to be developed at Boots.

how about talking about the negative plane of reality that allows you to use a card to vanish an reapear sponges or coin's a matrix type opertunity presents itself or the use of a chop card, the end result being that due to a flux in the dimesional transfer, flash paper possibly the queen is trapped in the wrong reality leaving us with the negative or inversion of the queen. :?:

Black Tiger Deck

Postby roman59 » Apr 27th, '04, 12:35

Hi All

Just recieved a deck of these in the post from a good friend of mine, still stuck at work at present, I will have a play with these tonight.

I spotted the above for sale on e-bay yesterday for $24.50 a deck & was a bit surprised.
Incidently the first print run sold out in 5 days, the second run will be the end of May.

Cheers
Mark

The costs quoted on Ellusionist seem reasonable - 12 decks based on pay for 9 get 3 free = $62.91, add on international shipping @ $22.00 which all works out to $7.07 a deck or about £4.16 at a conservative $1.75 to £1.

I'd guess that the next batch is pretty well subscribed already and the worldwide dealers/distributors are trampling over each other in the rush to get some for re-sale!

I've talked myself into ordering 12 decks so all I have to do now is wait until early June. (It's a long time isn't it?!)
