As my latest deck of red bikes came through the post- I'll have to jump on the bandwagon of the quality being a lot less than even the Bicycle Seconds of a few years back, so I am looking at changing.

I don't really like the look of the Phoenix deck and have been using to perform some Wynn Casino Bee cards I got from the Gamblers General Store on holiday to Vegas last year...
(they are plain backed with a Wynn Logo and white border on Bee stock)

I love the feel of them; and the look for that matter but they're awfully dear to import and I'm running low on them for performance...

So Ive had a look but not bought the Bee Stingers, just like normal diamond pattern Bee's but with the necessary white border.

Has anyone used these for performance and is the quality what you should come to expect from Bee's?

Any thoughts and a possible review would be a real help!

why not just spend fifteen quid on a few different decks and try 'em out? whats good for one person may not be for others...

I find bee's to be very nice especially for dealing seconds due to the all back design (not so if you getting the border).
I'm not sure there are any available gaffs for Bees and to be honest I'm not sure if your audience will give two hoots whether the print quality of the bikes has gone down.

I'm often quite puzzled with the obsession over buying different types of cards. Fair enough if you want a design that would suit you if you have a certain esoteric personna but for the majority of magicians all you need is a pack of cards you can handle with ease and also one that doesnt arouse suspicion (I found that the black decks did this a bit).

I think the issue with the Bikes at the moment is that the stock seems to have changed. I have a new deck and feel that might be the case, but I can't tell if I'm kidding myself or not.

So anyone who has a stock of Bikes from, say, a couple of years ago might find they're now worth a few quid!

I find normal Bees the perfect stock for everything. However, unless it's very specific, the borderless part is a problem.
Iain pointed that out at the last meet when I did a suited triumph thing!

Spending £15 on an assortment probably doesnt agree too much with my typical Yorkshire attitude on spending!

I do believe the quality of the card stock itself has degraded somewhat..Not to the detriment of the spectators obviously...

On another note, dont spectators often comment on the quality of cards you perform with?? "Oooh, they're so slippy and well made"

Back to my point however, I think I'll invest after some careful consideration and a review should come in due course on how they go on a gig!

fifteen quids a drop in the ocean though if you're gigging...

your hands are not my hands, if they were, a) it would be weird b) potentially sordid/embarrassing...

only your hands can decide if cards are any good..i never use bikes...can't stand them...love tally hos...quite like wynns (but they feel too brittle to me)...etc etc etc...

The Bees im using at the moment have lasted two weeks practice. Bikes usually last 2 days!

i seem to be bringing this up on a few threads - there is nothing wrong with Bikes! if theyre dead after 2 days - trying taking your hands out of the washing up bowl before using them! I've never had a problem with Bikes not lasting long.

Bees are all well and good - and make excellent false deals, because you cant tell where theyre coming from at all. I personally can't tell the difference between them and bikes to feel, and since theyre cut from the same stock, should last just as long.

Bee Stingers - hmmm - well, very flashy trailer, and they look nice if you're going to do cuts with them, but when it comes to spreading/fanning them, they look awful; theyre printed slightly off centre, so it looks like a really badly made deck.

Don't worry about that Sam. Save up the pennies and you'll be able to buy a house eventually.

I have used Bee Stingers a few times, they are ok nothing special.

Bicycle or studs all the way for me or the WPT cards are great quality.
