The Outlaw Showdown Wallet

Postby gillows » Thu Mar 11, 2010 5:31 pm

Outlaw effects have a new wallet coming out. Can't find much info on it apart from a small teaser on their site. Anyone know anything about it?

Hi,
I've been recommended the Stealth Assassin by Peter Nardini, but before sticking down 100 notes on it, I wondered if anyone could give a short comparison (versatility, usability as a 'perfectly normal' wallet, range, size, ease of use etc) between that and the various Outlaw wallets available - which I was looking at before.

cheers

hmmm...so now I'm wondering should I hold back on the Nardi SA and wait for the outlaw - although I've seen the Nardi in use, and know it is extremely effective. However, I do really want a wallet that I can carry regular currency in, and the SA doesn't seem to be so good for that.

I use my SAW every day as a normal wallet; it's fine for carrying English currency in the way shown in the photographs. It may look a bit unusual, but I've never had anyone query it and it's perfectly practical. The small size makes it a comfortable fit for the front trouser pocket.

I've been toying with buying another wallet for a while for a confabulation-type routine; is the Showdown suitable for that, Todd?

By the looks of it, Outlaw have already sold the first batch on pre-order so I guess it has been well telegraphed, though I couldn't find much.

Emailed Rick for more info and he said pics should up on the site soon. Sounds interesting.

well, that's kind of the problem - I travel constantly, so most of the time I have three or four currencies and like to be able to keep them separate - having the notes sticking out is the only thing that puts me off that wallet.

Thanks, Todd. Having seen the pics I doubt it. I think the JOL wallets with the Wonder Unit must be the way to go.

Why would anyone BUY a gimmicked wallet when as much can be done with any ungimmicked one and NO palming?

Just to clarify: with the hidden index, could you stick a poker sized Bicycle card and it wouldn't be visible? That is, no slight edges sticking out? If so, how many of these poker sized indexes would it have?

Lastly, I've seen a few vids and pics and the same driving licence as seen in the pics of the wallet of the Outlaw site, and it seems to be the same. Is this something that you have to live with, i.e a flash of some dude's driving licence that doesn't look like you? I'm not on a fishing expedition, I just want to know as obviously it would look fairly silly with a flash of this random dude in my wallet.

Finally, all of this was prompted after seeing a great ambitious card routine with signed card loaded into a sealed envelope within wallet (using a Jerry O'Connell Plus Wallet) - can the Showdown (AS DESIGNED - i.e. I don't want to do any DIY or mess around with the wallet with scissors and such like) also load a card to envelope?
I once got lost in thought... It was unfamiliar territory.
