I have a number of tuition DVDs that feature this wonderful character.

It's funny how the warmth and charisma shines through. His instruction on retention vanishing would benefit any practicing magician. Wonderfully old school he seems like a real Magician's Magician.

(By the way - does anyone know what it is on his pendant that he wears around his neck).

Bertoneski, Gary is a good friend of mine and I have seen the pendant many times. I believe that it contains the image of Merlin (or at least, a wizard). If you own his TT DVD you can get a better look at it. Next time I see Darwin, I'll definitely ask him. In the meantime, enjoy this photo I took of Gary.

Also, if you are interested I took several photos of Darwin's Magic Museum which was featured on Murphy's Magic website...you can check that out here:

Hi Mark

I know that Gary has a magic club of his own. Do you attend?

Two things come to mind about Gary... he's crazy as a loon and proof that anyone with fat fingers can do excellent slight-of-hand if they want to.

Yes, I attend his magic club meetings, which are more of an informal gathering of Magicians. They are held at a bar called Boomers, here in Vegas. Since Gary is a self proclaimed night-owl, the meetings start around 10:00PM every Wednesday night.

By, the way, after I made my post I called Gary and asked about his pendant, which he described in great detail. I found one that is nearly the same on ebay here:

Thanks for the information. Yes I heard Mr Darwin likes evening better. Those meetings go on until 1am I heard him say on the TT DVD.

Thanks for the heads up on his pendant!

Gary Darwin has got to be one of my favourite magicians...I can watch his DVDs and just be entertained...His section on Jay Noblezada's Sponge DVD is better than the rest of whole DVD...

He just seems to go through things so naturally and at his own pace.

Awesome...
