I did consider it, as it would be nice to pay my respects, however I think I would feel a little intrusive on his family. After all I never met the man, and just know him through his work...

Oh, I don't think that should stop you. It certainly wouldn't keep me from going. I understand how you might think it may be intrusive but I'm sure his closest friends and family would be pleased to see someone like you pay respects to the man who taught us so much and wrote a legendary book.

Please go if you possibly can; because unfortunately, I cannot.

Dunno. I know that Tony wasn't all that keen on magicians. In his later years if magicians contacted him he gave them the cold shoulder. I wouldn't be too keen to go to his funeral uninvited. And I knew him!

Sorry to hear you did not attend. If I was not across the pond, I'd have been there. I'm kind of shocked it turned into such a non-event.

Not for his family and loved ones, I'm sure. It's good that tonnes of unknown people did not descend on a private ceremony, IMHO.

I am afraid Paul is a little naive in the ways of the world. Funerals are not an event on facebook, you know.

If I had seen this earlier I would have contemplated going as I am not to far away, but of course if asked to leave I would have happily obliged, so many times has his book helped me and taught me, May he rest in peace.
