we said it before - but if you create a new usergroup with permissions to lock/delete posts (but no other access) then you can make some of the regulars mini-moderators...

it'll stop that influx of malware merchants, fake shoe makers (cobblers in other words), and other such tripe...

easy to do...just give it to people like dale, tomo, and a couple of others...

I could certainly see the benefits of some people having that, as long as it was used fairly.

Perhaps it would be better to have some sort of flag button or that certain members can 'suspend' a thread so only the mods can see it and decide what to do with it.

Also aren't those 'Download WMV MP3' posts done by robots? I can't imagine anyone capable of rational thought thinking a magicians forum is the best place to post. Does this site have one of those 'write the numbers you see here below' bits? To make sure new arrivals are human?

Good idea. Either this or a ”REPORT“ button that can bring a thread or a reply directly to the mod's attention. Would save a lot of time and hassle.
But ... don't give this power to Iain, he would have written: ”Then all died!“ and locked the thread of the Three Word Story a long time ago!

ah you should be able to though, i help run a forum using this software at work - and we have site admin, and mods...they can just lock/delete threads...

Bear in mind that TM operates on a stripped down older version of phpBB so it's a case of 'should be' but 'can't'.
