Plenty of splendid false cuts in Expert At The Card Table. But that's a book.

Also Card College...Volume 1 if memory serves...somebody correct me if I'm wrong...that has some very simple but effective false cuts in it. But that's a book too.

Lastly, Royal Road To Card Magic, explains some easy false shuffles. Again, that's more booky than DVD-y. Definitely more of the papery element to it.

Whilst you may prefer a DVD, for the price of a DVD you could probably buy at least two of these books from Amazon. If you're sure you're a visual learner though, Darwin Ortiz would probably be a good way to go. Darwin Ortiz On Card Cheating provides many false shuffles and cuts.

Weapons of the CardShark Vol 1. is a great start and I still use all the moves from there when doing my thing.

Expert at the card table is a great start as well, lots of great material to use and will keep you busy for a long time.

Darwin Ortiz on card cheating is great but very advanced.

Also if your false shuffles and cuts have been practised to perfection you will never get caught regardless how many times you use them

Surely if you do the same shuffle and then suddenly you use a different one, that would look a lot more fishy than always using the same shuffle?

If you keep to the same shuffle (sometimes doing it false) and keep an eye on your angles then what's there to worry about? Don't run if you're not chased

I know you said you're specifically after DVDs, but I would highly recommend Expert Card Technique (its a book :) ). Not only will you get some really good false shuffles, cuts and controls, but a wealth of other information aswell. There is also a section on misdirection and presentation which is worth more than the price of the whole book - which is aroud £10 :)

Damn right!

I just use an overhand shuffle, as taught in RRTCM. Learnt it 30 years ago, still working fine for me!

I never use riffle shuffles of any kind because the last thing I want my audience to think is that I am clever with my hands.

Here here... I adopted this way of thinking when I realised that card magic was one of 2 things to a spectator (in my opinion). An entertaining display of dexterity, or a genuine piece of magic.

With dexterity I refer to all the fancy cuts and flourishes, with cards jumping about and lots of movement. This dexterity is never regarded as magic, and I believe actually gets in the way of leaving a spectator with feeling they have experienced a genuine piece of voodoo. Of course many "invisible" sleights require dexterity - but they are just that... invisible. All I'm trying to say is that I reckon too much finger-flinging will build a glass wall between the magician and the spectator - with the power of the magic only being able to be progress so far.

Keep. It. Simple. Sorcerers.
