Ok guys first of all lets see what Andi has to say:
Get ready to ditch the get ready!
The Master Pushoff isn't just a move; it's an entire technique that will revolutionize your card magic. This one technique allows you to execute a perfect double turnover (with no breaks or get readies), an elegant second deal, double deals, palms, switches, third deals and so much more ... it can even be used for sixth and seventh dealing!
Building on the work of Edward Marlo, this DVD is the first in-depth look at the multiple pushoff technique in over 40 years. Andi Gladwin's expert touch and easy-to-follow tuition makes it easy to learn and apply the multiple pushoff to your card magic, including some great effects and a guest appearance by Benjamin Earl.
Whether you're new to card magic, or are a card magic expert, this two DVD set is a masterful example of how a technique that takes a split second to execute can be one of the most useful, important technique in your repertoire. Invest your time in learning this move and it will reward you every time you pick up a deck of cards.
The Effect
Well as it says this is a utility move, which allows you to deal doubles, triples and more, whilst having a very natural look. No fiddling around at the back of a deck and none of the usual tell-tell signs of foul play. No wonder Darwin Ortiz himself has put his two cents in.
Cost
$40.00 + p&p from Vanishing Inc
(I got this from Blackpool so it was slightly less.)
Difficulty
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)
Its easily a 4, this will take time, its the sort of effect that you can sit in front of the telly playing with this. You can't rate muscle memory.
Review
Well this was a nice surprise, I only found out about it from another magician talking loudly about it in the Ruskin, so the next day I popped over to Andi's stand, and he demoed it and I was sold.
Taking it home I found 2 disks, each full of ideas and uses for this technique.
I am not going to to a trick by trick review, as it is all reliant on the Master Pushoff.
Andi explains it well, going through all of the necessary bits you will need to know to successfully learn the technique. He also goes into second deals, thirds and so on. Everything is well credites and the production quality is top notch, as per all Vanishing Inc products. This is a difficult move, just starting out you will mess this up...a lot. But as with anything, this is a time investment piece, you will need to keep a deck of cards on you at all times so you are able to keep practicing. After a while you will get the motion and it is undetectable compared to the older methods out there.
Top item for me on the DVD is the Tom Cruise selection, very clean, and a good way to get into a ambitious card, or if you are proficient with the classic force, you have even more options.
Overall
I will give this a 8/10 as its a good move to learn, but I think many magicians will pass this by as it seems to difficult to learn just for a new way to do a DL.
