Chris Beard: Tossed Out Thoughts

Postby Beardy » Apr 20th, '11, 13:56

Hey guys

This is a routine that has been a staple in my stage act for a while. This is also the first time I've ever had it go slightly wrong! Nobody noticed, and I continued quite well.

The guy who came up was a well-known comedian from the area. None of what happened on stage was planned, as he was a genuinely random audience member.

Inspiration from Derren Brown and Luke Jermay.

Enjoy!

It's the sign of a consumate perfomer when you can cover errors as well as this. A masterclass in performance. Well done Chris!

Shocker.

Probably because he was a comedian. Comidians are diametrically opposed to magicians. So his very presence would have angerd the many ferocious and ridiculous stage gods. Also he behaved like a t***.

Invoke not reason. In the end it is too small a deity.

Thanks :)

You guys seriously think he was badly behaved on stage? I thought it was a laugh and enjoyed myself; I thought I handled it all quite well! Sign of a good stage performer you think? ;) haha!

I think you are beig harsh on him! Surely you know you get all different kinds of spectators!

Love

If you enjoyed his behaviour that's great, and I did think he was very funny, but when you're on someone elses stage it's bad form to act out like that.

Well done! You can see that he didn't like not to be in control of the situation. Very subtle, in a funny way, you put him back on his spot ;)

Did you already know who he was when he stood up from his chair?

Yeah - we've performed on the same stage before, though never together. He's been on earlier on in the night, for example. :)

You dealt with an annoying idiot really well. A lot of performers would get phased by having such an attention seeking Nincompoop try and take over the show, but you handled it with grace and professionalism.
