just watched the 'prequel' to next week's episode on the BBC website....wasn't that character also in David Tennant's final show? Seem to remember him chatting to River Song in a bar/Star Wars 'Cantina' style setting..... Wonder if he'll play a bigger part next week or whether he just gets into that blue make-up to act as an expository device when required!?

no, he wasnt in any of the tennent shows, although he is a bit like the duke of Manhatten, in new earth.
He was the baddy who provided River with the Vortex Manipulator, which the doctor wore when jumping back and forth during Pandorica/big bang.

OK, so when did the "Amy swap" happen then? Ep 2?

According to Dr Who Confidential, Amy was swapped early in series 5. We have not seen the real Amy for a long time .

Can't be. She saw the woman with the eyepatch before she was taken by the silence, so was already there, so to speak

My bet is when she was kidnapped in the hungry earth episode. She was unconscious a lot when she was kidnapped, easy for a ganger to wake up not realising that they were a ganger. Plus the TARDIS energy stabalises the transformation, so she would never change back!

I watched Confidential and don't remember them saying that. It would be rather a big spoiler wouldn't it, and Moffat hates those. But if it was Series 5 then maybe something to do with the DreamLord episode? She was pregnant in that one (in the "dream world").

Of course if she's not really been Amy for that long then lots of other plot lines fall apart. How did the Pandorica stuff work if she wasn't really Amy, for example? And how did the Siren taking tissue samples in ep 3 work if Amy wasn't human at that point? etc etc etc

They said before ep 1 of series 6 for certain as people have been saying why did they reveal it!

I think she was Amy till around the first episode of Season 6.

Because during Season 5 we didn't see or hear anything about the Eye patch lady at all. And like it's been mentioned, if she wasn't real Amy back then. Then all the stuff with the Pandrica wouldn't have mattered and she wouldn't have been able to bring back the Doctor or the TARDIS, or Rory-auton wouldn't have been able to "almost" kill her.

News today is that Stephen Moffat is 'resting' the Daleks and they won't be appearing for a while. Probably an exaggeration but he reckons the Doctor nhas defeated them 'about 400 times'!

Yeah, would be tough to ouutdo the series 4 finale with just a monster of the week style ep.

Wwaaaaaaah!!! I can't possibly wait until the Autumn for the next show!!!!

My wife figured out the River Song reveal about midway through but it was still a very nice touch.

And how about that title for the next episode?? Sounds a little more like a South Park title than a Dr Who Ep!!!

Must go and watch again.......!

When does the second half of this season start? They seem a bit secretive about it.
