Don't forget the involvement of the Sighbermen - robotic entities who spend all day looking very sad and saying," Oh dear, oh dear oh dear' .......

I'm so f***ing happy!

And this makes me even happier!

I hope Harriet Jones comes back to life and runs for prime minister again and the doctor agrees to help her with her campaign. I hope Joanna Scanlan is the new companion and she has a boyfriend played by Chris Addison.

Invoke not reason. In the end it is too small a deity.

It just goes to show you can't please everyone! Most people I spoke to didn't know who he was either, when I mentioned he'd been in the episode set in Pompeii there was still no spark of recognition. When I mentioned he played the TV producer involved with staging Songs Of Praise in 'The Vicar Of Dibley' and came back a second time to ask about a wedding there was a wee glimmer of understanding.

Anywho, it won't be all that long until we seem what he can do and, as a trained actor with a lot of varied experience it should be good stuff.

Am I the only one who remembers Peter Capaldi as The Angel Islington in Neverwhere?

(I was planning to give you a YouTube link, but the only clip there would be a spoiler if you've never seen it....so don't look for it!)

I do! I loved that show (c:

I'm very happy withthis casting, and think a return to an older Doctor will dilute a lot of the "swooning companion" fluff we've seen in recent years.

If you haven't heard, or even if you have, BBC2 are showing 'An adventure in time' on Thursday 21st at 9pm. Its a dramatisation about how the whole thing was first brought to the screen 50 years ago. Also, Radio 2 are doing Dr.Who stuff from 10pm same night.

Radio 4 have been running a whole set of full length stories this week. I have been picking them up on I Player as a relief to the tedium which is my job!

Would this be a good area to discuss the recent 50th anniversary episode too? (Obviously wont go spoiler crazy if people havent seen it yet)

I personally LOVED the episode, as much as I did though, I really wanted a tiny bit more from Christopher Eccleston (He apparently never wanted to be in the epsidoe, boooooo)

Christmas special much? I cant wait :D

I enjoyed it too, though I noted one or two plot holes. I particularly liked the nods to the original Doctor (whom I'm old enough to remember) at the beginning, and the closing music and credits - though of course the BBC ruined them as usual.

I enjoyed it very much indeed - dealt with a lot of those loose ends which were left hanging, or at least unanswered, from various episodes.

Incidentally, Peter Davison's 'The Five-ish Doctors' is a crackingly good mickey take and features a whole host of faces from the past, many of whom didn't get into the 50th Anniversary episode. It's online and viewable for a few weeks yet.
