Double Card Prediction

Postby Ted » May 30th, '11, 11:08

Here's a 'treat' for you all, which was originally posted in the exclusive Mentalism area. So now you know what goes on in there :)

It's a free effect in which I demonstrate a basic prediction using ESP cards. There is no sleight of hand and, although the method might make you chuckle, it really does get a good reaction - particularly in conjunction with the ESPsycrets routine.

Paul Brook told me (and I'm sure he wouldn't mind me telling you) that, "I really thought that the effect was great. Loved the method, probably the best use of {*name of gimmicks removed*} I have ever seen. Honestly!"

This was sent to subscribers of my mailing list in January. So if you want to receive this sort of thing at the earliest opportunity you know what to do :)

The trick can be performed using playing cards if you wish, but you'll need to invest in a couple of special gimmicks for it to work. If you already have the MK-MOD ESP test cards then you have everything you need. And if you want to see these cards in action then tune in, because they are the ones I'm using in the video.

Please note that although this video is hosted on YouTube, no one will find it unless they know the exact link. Please don't share this URL with any non-magicians:

And as always, if you have any questions, problems or great ideas please don't hesitate to drop me a line.

Hey Ted,

I really like this little routine (I was going to post a reply in the BeyondESP thread, but after seeing this dedicated post, thought it best to reply here) and will deffo be using it :D

Only have 1 question though - what envelopes do you use, I got 2 nice looking red ones with ESP3 but they have very low bottoms by the flaps (The open longways, not short ways like yours do).
They look to be standard "wage slip" style envelopes, but the only ones I can seem to find are way too big for a playing card.

Cheers in advance for the envelope advice, and thanks again for another great ESP related trick

Hi Dan,

The envelopes I use are wage envelopes. The one on the video was one of about 50 that I bought for pence in a stationery shop.

The MK-MOD cards are bridge-sized, so you might find that these types of envelopes are too narrow for poker-sized cards, though.

Staples sell wage envelopes, but I've found these to be a little too roomy for this purpose (they are ideal for The Third Man, though).

Cheers,
T.

I have just been to Tesco (no, this isn't a typical Tweet ;)) and found that you can buy 50 similar envelopes for 50p. I think that they were called 'Money envelopes' and they were Tesco's own 'value' brand.
