Review
I've been interested in reading this for a while. Roni is a very experienced reader and one of the most likeable performers I've seen. However I held off as it came out just after I'd bought a series of other publications on readings and didn't want to try and take on board too much at once. Roni's offering on reading system offers advice on how to present yourself, attitude, bookings, and then a number of reading systems. It reminds me a little bit of Richard Webster's cold reading variations; a hodge podge of different systems.

It starts by covering advice on how to present yourself and your attitude. Roni. It's advice which has been said in many other similar publications, but it bears repeating. It has some brief details on potential booking ideas. It then moves onto several reading systems. Roni covers his system of Kabalistic numbers. Using the letters of their names this is reduced down to one number to give a quick personality reading. I've tried a few similar numerology systems before and there always popular.

Roni covers palm reading and tarot reading. They both give enough to get some one started in these areas. However as I'm already fairly confident with Tarot I didn't read this section in as much detail. These sections are perfectly good, but there are other publications offering these in more detail. There is a sample reading, which I found useful looking at how Roni links the cards into a fuller description.

There are two pages covering a reading based on the letters of your name and the meanings associated with each letter. Then it finishes with your birthday with nature. This is the system that interests me the most. It links birthdays to a birth tree. There is a little bit of detail on the "personalities" of each tree. It offers a nice alternative to astrology, which doesn't really suit my personality as a performer. I'm thinking I might dig out the DVD on draw me a tree and see about combining tree drawings with this. I've been looking for a reading system to set mine apart and think this could be it.

Overall

Overall it's been a good read. The market has been flooded over the last few years with reading systems and cold reading material. Black Hart's black book 3 covers similar advice. Tarot and palmistry have been covered nicely by Freddie and Paul, amongst others. However it doesn't do any harm reading it again. I think what sets this apart is Roni's knowledge of numerology and offering a few alternative systems, such as the birthday with nature. These will set your readings apart from others. For a little bit more info on Roni's thinking have a read of this interview to help you decide if you think this might be for you.

Roni ran a workshop on this at Doomsday 2011. It was excellent, and Roni demonstrated exactly how to put these techniques into practice.

The volunteer (and the audience) were genuinely taken aback at the perceived accuracy of the reading.

I have a copy of the book and am looking at ways to incorporate this into my readings.

Good stuff

Seconded! At Tabula Mentis last November, Roni did a reading workshop together with Paul Voodini and I was made a volunteer. The attention to detail, as well as drawing the person into the reading, creates a very personal experience, even if the reading only last a brief period of time.

I can attest to this. You agreed that you have no belief in this sort of thing and yet, there it was: this moment of meaning conjured naturally and specifically for you. The guy's worth his weight in gold.

We can read all the free ebooks we like. Anyone can learn something and write it down again in their own words. But Roni has wisdom.

Was not. Besides, between the two of us, you're supposed to be the mature one, where you're no longer allowed to have fun after a certain age :P

I've had this system for several years now and have used it a few times at Psychic Fairs. It's so potent that people have asked me to teach it to them and though I've managed to side-step such requests, I believe such requests speak loudly when it comes to the potential of this system.
