Glorious episode. Though the quantum mechanics of the whole thing was questionable (but I'll let that go)

Personally I'm not too sure about this or the previous series of Who. I find Rory and Amy just quite annoying. I want to burn my ears off with acid when I hear River Song say "Spoilers, darling". And why is it that almost every episode involves Rory and Amy (either separately or individually) running around a strange building like headless chickens? And do we have to cry and have a near death scene in every episode??

AND... Dr. Who loves all life. He said so. But then he killed blobby strange life form Amy (can't remember the proper name/term but you know what I mean) just like *that*. Tut tut doctor. Must try harder.

I am a HUGE Dr. Who fan, but recently I find my enthusiasm waning (as you can tell). I'm aware that I am the only person in the universe who feels like this, and that everyone else loves it. :D

He couldn't save 'other' Amy because it would tear time apart - remember the Billie Piper episode where she saved her dad from dying and flying monsters appeared? It was like that. I guess. I don't always follow the time travel theory side of things. But the TARDIS was getting all sparky at the suggestion!!

I agree that since Steven Moffat took over it's been more about the lives of the companions but I'd take Rory and Amy over Catherine Tate any day. She made me question to the point of living. And the 'miss' episodes I haven't found as eye-stabbingly cringeworthy as the worst of Russell T Davies' work - such as the one with Peter Kay or, to my mind the worst, the one involving the Olympic Torch relay at the end where the Doctor "saved the Olympic spirit" (buckets please). But when Moffat hits, he hits spectacularly!

The WWI episode from Christopher Eccleston's year with "are you my mummy?" and the episode that introduced the weepy angels are genius! So for that Moffat is my hero. :D

Although I like Matt Smith, and really enjoyed the Hitler episode, the last two episodes haven't been my favourite...

Here is hoping to a good next episode!

I like Daleks and Cybermen and alternative histories/universes/timelines. So here's what I'd like to see please: A WW2 episode where the Daleks are part of the Third Reich and the Cybermen are fighting on the Allies side. The Cybermen should be wearing Tommy uniforms including tin helmet. That would rock. In the words of Jean-Luc: "Make it so!"

To be fair, neither do the writers. Causing anomalies in time attracts the reapers (who solve the paradox by completely destroying the people involved, plus anyone else knocking around and/or the planet - thereby creating a far bigger disruption to history than the event itself). Or does nothing. Or causes the Doctor's doom by the hand of an OAP.

In this case, though, it wasn't even an anomaly or rewriting time, it was an impossibility or paradox. Saving young Amy had to mean older Amy ceased to exist. The only thing that could have done it (well, as explained in new Who so far) was a paradox machine. The stuff at the end of the last season was allowed (allegedly) because the rules of time were disintegrating due to the Tardis's explosion.

I agree absolutely (although you forgot to mention the farting alien on an space sufboard).

By the way, Fear Her wasn't written by RTD, but I think he might have had overall script control.

Which one was that?! I must have expunged it from my memory.

I stand corrected. But the blood is still on his hands!! Same with Torchwood. I tried so hard to get into it but I found it all the faults of Russell T Davies squashed together in the one show.

In looking up Fear Her, I was reminded of The Impossible Planet and The Satan Pit from the same series - two absolutely terrifying episodes. Loved them.
