The Effect

30 card effects that are ideal for corporate, wedding, private parties an entertaining your mates! A mixture of strolling and table effects. I will not go through every trick as there are too many!

Difficulty
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)

1 - 5 but most things here are within reach of most performers.

Review

What i really like about this material on these discs are that these are real World workers that Paul uses in his own shows. There is no flashy Dan & Dave stuff here (thank goodness!) just solid worker material that you will be proud to include in your act. There is something here for all levels and watching the set i soon noticed a good amount of effects that the beginner could use and would impress people with. For professional entertainers such as myself, there is a wealth of material here and the whole set is a joy to watch. I had an advantage in that i was already very comfortable with all the sleights Paul uses in these effects. However, if you are not then do not worry, the teaching on here is excellent and you will soon be mastering the sleights you need. The DVD is nicely produced and includes good quality live clips, this is important as you can see how many of the effects can be linked to form a complete set. When we come to the teaching we once again have good production values. Paul calmly and clearly explains what you need to know to perform his effects, there are good clear views of the cards and hands at all times so you will see what is going on.

I could ramble on for hours about how great this set is ... but why bother? Just by watching a few clips of Paul live will show you how powerful, fairly easy (mostly!) and commercial this card magic is. When i begin performing 'regular' magic again in a few weeks i shall be using this material and you should too!

I am not a 'cardie'; I struggle with any kind of card manipulation so I don't do it. Nevertheless, there are some good items on this dvd that even I can use - and get good reactions from. If you are a novice, or new to cards, it's one of those dvd sets where you can find some good items to start with and leave others to 'grow into'. I'm very happy though with the few I can do. One of them ('queen of clubs') is a reputation maker and might get you burned at the stake if you over-use it.

VERY kind words. Appreciated! It's very pleasing that both Card Startlers and it's follow-up set Blockbusters With Cards have become best-sellers on most dealers lists. But, what on earth is the "Queen of Clubs" trick?????

I did go on the website but I didn't find a buy button for this set or any of the stuff on there for that matter. However I am in the middle of the sea and our stone age (slower than dial-up) internet frequently half loads web pages so I expect that was the case. I'll look at the site again.
