Simon Lovell "The Madness Behind The Methods" 3 disc DVD

The Effect

This is a dvd set so it has multiple effects. Basically it is all card tricks. This dvd set has mentallism, story decks, gimicked decks, a four ace assembley, card to wallet, and a lot more.

Cost

The cost is about $70 on Penguin Magic

Difficulty
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)

This is definatley a 4 in dificulty but don't be scared by the difficulty you can watch and practice and master every trick. But don't exspect to master it in seconds. Simon Lovell shows many sleights that might be to difficult for a beginner to use properally. such as Double lifts, deck vanishes, palming, etc.

Review

This DVD set contains about 30 effects that will knock the socks off anyone. I have used some of his material for one of my paid shows and peoples mouths just droped.

I have met him in person and he is a very funny and nutty person, But the most excellent card man I have ever seen. His sleights and his imagination are amazing.

Simon dedicated the DVD to Derick Dingle who passed away a little while ago. so Simon will show you some of Derick Dingles moves and card routines.

First of all this DVD set is amazing, the effects are great to watch. He can make his audiences laugh and wonder in amazement and best thing is he explains his tricks and tells you how he makes them look so good.

This is really and truely the card mans DVD. The effects are great and the impact is big. I fyou need something big and strong this is the thing to get. You always have mouths drop and people gasp. Even if you don't love every trick you learn something from it anyway. you also get some bonus features aswell teaching you everything a performer should learn.

Overall

Overall I am going to have to say this DVD set is one of the most amazing collection I have ever seen. The magic is so amazing you can't stop. I love this DVD and the material will never fail. You could be making a new close up act and if you need something new and snazzy you can just refer back to the DVD and find something amazing. If you love cards and want to learn some of the finest stuff then this is for you.

I love watching Simon Lovell's performances. He seems to be having so much fun all the time that it is just so infectious...

Nice review, it sounds like a good set of dvd's to own, and reasonably priced too.

It certainly includes some serious kick ass card magic but.... not mentioned is the fact it ALSO includes Lovells famous White Rose- his method for folding a napkin into the shape of a rose - this for me was reason enough to buy the dvd...

i just got this at a bargain price from ebay (£15 including postage!!!!!) and can honestly say its one of the best buys i have made for a LONG time... the effects range from easy(ish) to kinda hard but with perseverance there should be something for most folks on these DVDs...i actually gave mrs mog a napkin rose yesterday whilst at a chinese resteraunt and she loved it... even the waitress who was clearing the table at the time loved it.. " its very beautiful" she exlaimed...

if anyone is even the slightest bit interested in card magic then this is worth a buy....

BUT sometimes Simons "madness" can get a bit much butits still worth putting up with... just buy it!!!
