Now then everybody!
I thought i'd introduce myself after finally registering on here.
My name is Stu, I'm 30, from Yorkshire and have had an interest in magic most of my life. I have been quite a few years out of touch (it has always just been for pleasure and entertaining family/friends more than anything else...) and being a family man has taken priority over recent years and so the magic has been on the back burner for a while. I still remember the first vanishing silk trick I learnt when I was about 8-9 and not having giant thumbs back then made it a bit tricky!!
Haha!
I have recently started back up with the magic and am keen to sharpen my skills up again. Although i would not class my age as being "old" when i used to learn tricks, there was no such thing as the internet and i - like everyone else had to do back then, read a lot of books and practised. Practised a LOT!
Though the internet has made it 'easier' to acquire and to learn tricks i also see the web as being a bit negative sometimes with everyone's opinion usually scrutinised and so many conflicting views - it can be a hindrance more often than a help!
I am glad i have found this website though and i hope to become part of the community soon and gratefully accept any advice/help i can get and am more than happy to share my limited experience with people.
Like i say, I'm in it for the fun of it, i love close up magic, coins and cards mainly. I take great satisfaction in mastering a card trick rather than using gimmicks all the time - but there is definitely a place in my arsenal for the odd coin or two!
Hope i haven't bored you all just yet!
Cheers,
Stu
