Review
It is what it says it is, five cards shown front and back, cleanly and now funny counts, are gathered together, then fanned to show a royal flush.
The first time I performed this was for a work colleague, I'd only just learnt the routine, so my perfomance lacked any quality, and his jaw just dropped open! He now says this is the best trick I've showed him! (A tad dissapointing as only last week I did Bannon's "Dead Reckoning," which I think I can do far better...)
That said, the transformation is beautiful, and also so quick and unexpected... and it leaves the cards clean enough to be dealt into a spectators hand (as long as you gather them up quickly enough! But of course you'd have to take them helpfully out of their hand rather quickly so you can show the front and the back of each individual card)
What you get is the cards needed and a rather nice little DVD where Boris explains how to do the trick. It's clear, functional and has a few tips on prolonging the life of the cards, storage and even making more of them! ... Oh! And it's also got it all in French too! (Merci Boris!)
There is one major down side to it though... The most major one for me is that the reset is a pain! Really... I just can't see how this could be used for table hopping, which is such a shame, as the effect would be ideal! .... And it's another packet trick (although Boris does explain on the DVD how to take it from a full deck) Also, and this is just a personal thing, as I tend to have a more "mental" side to the magic I do (so why did I buy this???) it's a bit of a "look at me" trick, and not one where you can draw the spectators in with... it lack's interaction, which is why I really do try to deal the cards out in to a spectators hand at the end...
For now though, it lives quite happily in my packet trick wallet, along side Spin Doctor and Twisted Sisters... I find it usefull to nhave on me if someone says "Show me a trick", and I'm feeling not at my liveliest... it's so easy to do, and has repeatedly got a great reaction!
(And sorry for the waffle, this is my first review... Don't think anyone else has done this trick yet)
Overall
A sweet little trick, nice and quick, and looks as good as five cards changing can look!
As a one off (ie, not having to perform it again in a short space of time with other people around you!) and value for money (only a tenner!), very easy, get's surprisingly good audience reactions, plus it's kind of fun to do
I think I'd give it a 9/10
