The (usually very nice) old lady down the road giving me a lecture on how my girls will never go to heaven if I don't get them christened.

She’s a very insular and ill informed person! Alternatively just tell her that most churches who have christening/baptism as a sacrament prefer any candidate to make their own mind up at a later age rather than have the ceremony without full commitment just because it’s the ‘done thing’. The old joke is that if a church is infested with bats in the belfry the best way to deal with the situation is to baptise them - and you'll never see them again!

Theres no rush.. I was christened at 6, in a joint ceremony with my first brother who was 4, and my sister , who was 2.

I do remember the day though, it was lovely and sunny and i felt special in my nice new clothes, and shiny shoes. :)

I'm going to just let them make up their own minds when they're old enough to understand it all. There's a mixture of Islamic, Methodist and C of E faiths in my family and Dave's family are all Church of Scotland on top of my rather odd mixture of beliefs so they've got plenty of choose from. And of course they're more than welcome to choose anything else that they want.

What makes me angry? Loads but the one which happens most days is inconsiderate idiot drivers who insist on staying in the outside lane on dual carriageways when there are no cars to overtake or right turns ahead. If anyone wants to get past there are just two choices, the first is to drive behind and toot the horn or flash the headlights but that usually results in obscene gestures, sudden braking or other non helpful activities (or is that just what happens to me?!) The second is to overtake on the inside which is illegal.

That REALLY gets me on the motorway. Tootling along in the middle lane effectively means that anything faster must be funnelled into one lane. This causes tailbacks at peak times and potentially causes pile-ups.

How about one lorry overtaking another at a speed less than half a mile an hour faster? Three lanes reduced to one for several miles, time to limit lorries and other slow moving vehicles to the first lane only. There would then be no need to widen motorways at all.
