Excellent stuff, thank you!

It always amuses me when they repeatedly say, 'Don't try this at home' - oh yes, I have a spare Origami Box illusion in the cupboard, I think I'll put Granny in it, fold her up and stick scimitars through her!

My wife saw it and for once from one who dislikes illusions ( she likes the Close Up stuff) she liked it!!

But she does not recall the magician putting 3 long panes of glass and 2 steel blades through the box, after the sawing.
This was part of the ORIGINAL Selbit presentation

Various magicians have presented their idea of Selbit's version of Sawing but always omit the panes of glass & steel blades.
Without these it is not really the FULL Selbit version.

From memory-- and I may be wrong-- when Paul Daniels performed it he DID put, if not glass, long sheets of wood through the box.

Must look the video up

yes, Paul did it with the glass, he also used the Cigar box to prove how little space there is between each pane.( which is one of the real convincers)
For some reason people refer to the Wakling saw through as the selbit. it does annoy me a bit, because the Wakling saw is a thing of beauty to look at. All polished wood, and tooled leather. The whole point of the original was.. it was just a packing case, usually constructed by local workmen. :)
