Look at these boys. Its interesting to note that a touch of originality in performance brings some average magic tricks up to a standard good enough to get them a spot on television. They even get an applause for the dove pan effect and the giant sponge ball coming out of the mouth - hardly groundbreaking magic - but the audience has failed to spot method as they were watching the entertaining and original performance.
I've said it before, but the complicated, multi-phase stuff that has magicians quaking with excitement often bores the public and the simple and direct stuff such as this (coupled with good performance skills) can thrill a crowd despite being technically easy in comparison.
