Hey

Hey there,

My name is Josh, I'm 19 years old, from London, and am new to magic. I went to International Magic Shop near Chancery lane the other day and bought a few things, some being a few self working tricks, but I also said that I didn't only want a quick fix, but to learn as well, so I was advised to buy David Jones Commercial Close-Up Magic disc 1 and 2. So far it's all going well, though I have to admit, I'm finding the tricks which involve sleight of hand difficult, like the sponge ball routine, I find it so difficult to make it look like I'm passing the ball into the other hand. But I guess it doesn't come quickly, hopefully it'll come after a lot of practice.

Anyway, I'm certainly looking forward to more trips to International Magic Shop, and I hope you contribute a lot to here about my progress and giving input.

Xagan :)

welcome.
Regarding your sponge ball problem.
It might help if initialy you imagine that you are taking the ball away from one hand, rather than putting the ball into the other hand.
same result, Different physical process.

you're like Yoda.you dont say much, but what you do say is worth listening to....

Hi Josh, welcome to the forum.

There's nothing wrong with a few self workers. All slights take practise, Infact even self workers should be practised.
