The reg desk stays open quite late but if you email Arthur Casson I'm sure suitable arrangements can be made for very late arrivals.

Well as soon as the kids are back to school this is my next holiday I like to call it as its a 'lads' weekend and fast a furious,I always end up going down a day earlier as its great meeting up before with old friends for the calm before the storm, and the shazam is not to bad if you got kids as its free and can keep them busy for a a couple of days before sending the wife on her way home while you get settled in for a weekend of pure entertainment and emptying your bank account.
Think I'll try and go down on a we'd next year, mind you if Christmas is busy im going to session too!

Blackpool 2013 Best Hotels?

Postby killaklownkris » Oct 8th, '12, 11:40

Hi guys
Just thought I would start a thread as my Christmas is Blackpool in February and im sure it is for lots of you,Just wondered if any of you guys booked your hotels yet or can recommend any or have any funny stories about hotels you stayed in the past?

I usually stay at the South shore travelodge (next to the football ground) as its clean and tidy and I know what your going to stay its a bit of a way to walk.Another reason I do this the walk sobers me up and keeps me out of mischief staying out to late if I am close to Ruskin!!!
when I have got in I usually crash out and wake up with a clear head.

Ill have to book it soon as prices are increasing and a little tip is to book your room each night with them rather than from a date to when you leave as it works out cheaper!

Have a magic week all!

Magic Kris :D

There's a hotel next to the Rusking called the Grosvenor; whatever you do DO NOT STAY THERE!
"sewer wreaking s*** hole" would be a compliment to that place.

There's plenty of little B&Bs down Albert Street though. No need to go too fancy for the 3 or 4 hours a night you're acrtually going to be there!

David Williamson alone is enough to warrent attending. It'll be great to see him performing there again, it's been too long. Brilliant.

Kind of glad I didn't borther attending FISM though 'cos it looks like all they've done is re-invite them all to the Feb convention.

I haven't been keeping up with Blackpool because I hadn't intended to go but when I read yesterday that David Williamson and Simon Lovell were going to be there I started to think twice about my decision. What hawever is with the huge number of Korean performers? I must have missed something somewhere. Will they all be there just for the friday night show? Does anyone know if Wayne Dobson will be lecturing this year? Are there any other known performers not yet on the Blackpool website?

Also, is the Korean Show on Friday part of the Gold ticket?

I am really wavering now about going and I don't think it is going to take much to push me over the final hurdle and get me sending off my registration!

It's supposed to be 'The People's Convention and artists request by the paying public are supposedly the ones who have been booked. I daresay that the superb impact of the Koreans in this year's Convention will have influenced some choices, others have told me that it's almost the same line-up as FISM this year so you can take your choice of what's what! David Williamson is always excellent but also seeing Simon Lovell has to be a good reason for being there.
