I got this lovely little gem of a book through the post today, which came from Andrew himself, via Amazon.
I've only skimmed through it so far, so I'll post a more detailed review when I have studied it more, but I'm usually quite accurate with my first judgments and this book looks to be fantastic.
I've often heard this book being talked about, but couldn't track down a copy. I finally found one on amazon, and so decided to snap it up.
Andrew Galloway was a student of the great John Ramsay, so you know you are reading something quite special. The Book is 72 pages long, hardback, a lovely shade of dark green, with gold lettering for the title, with a turquoise dust jacket. The book it split into 2 parts, the first part teaches sleights, palms and concealments.....some classics, some less well known. The second part is a repetoire of coin tricks, and they are all extremely fine tricks, if executed correctly. After each trick has been described there is a small section on the misdirection for each trick, how and when it should be applied and why it succeeds in working.
I'm mainly a card man, but I would like to be able to do coins to a reasonable level, because I believe it's always good to be able to perform some nice tricks that can be impromptu, and what's more impromptu than coins?.....and there sure is plenty of them in this book. My main attraction to the book was it's details on misdirection, and it has some fantastic ideas and tips when it comes to misdirection.
Even if you are not into coins, it might be worth getting the book for the advice on misdirection alone.
10/10......a book that will strengthen any repertoire and add considerably to one's library.
