The Effect
A match is ignited and pressed to a small black dot - a portal - is drawn on the palm of your hand. With your other hand, you slowly trace the path of ignition up your arm, across your chest, and finally to your mouth. You open your mouth - and a cloud of smoke emerges.
Created by Alan Rorrison, SMOKE represents simple, powerful magic. It needs no introduction. While intended for those 18 years of age or older, theory11 made every effort in production of SMOKE to ensure precise safety in operation. The smoke is harmless - made of organic compounds.

The DVD teaches a full routine utilizing the SMOKE gimmick entitled PORTAL by Dan White. You'll also see 6 other applications and concepts that you can build off of. The possibilities are endless.

Nothing was a higher priority for them than safety. they went above and beyond to ensure that the gimmicks provided were as safe, effective, and reliable as humanly possible. In fact, the gimmicks provided were THREE TIMES the cost of our original prototypes. We demanded quality - and we took our time to find it.

The smoke created using SMOKE is not actually smoke. Try to say that three times fast! But it is true - it is NOT smoke. It is actually vapor, made from organic compounds and completely harmless. It causes no irritation or discomfort whatsoever with responsible use.

A powerful, simple effect that is diabolical in function and applauded by some of the top names in magic. Enough supplies are included for close to a THOUSAND performances - and refills are available at any time.

SMOKE is intended for those 18 years of age or older. The type of gimmick included with this DVD has been clinically tested as safe, but use, operation, and performance of SMOKE is understood to be at your own risk. By purchasing this DVD, you acknowledge consent and understanding of this message.

i am 15 and use it, the routine i use is pretending to draw a fag and say because i am underage i cant really smoke real ones, i then take the invisible one and smoke it :D

Cost:
£40 from http://www.alakazam.co.uk/product-smoke ... rison.html

Difficulty
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)

the trick/utilities is 1/2 but the routine can be 3.

Review
this is a 'well good trick' and can be used in nearly all situations it always get good reactions but some people sometime suspect the gimmick but the DVD tells you how to get around that

Overall
i would give it a 8/10

would love to know your views routines tips etc or if you have any problems i can try and help

thanks

Can you talk before the smoke comes out of your mouth?

Not seen the DVD, just the gimmick, so unsure if a way is taught but there certainly is a way.
Can someone clarify regarding pen/speach/smoke combinations taught on the DVD?

No, you can't speak before you release the smoke.

The "smoke" is "loaded" via a very very natural gimmick pretty much whenever you want during a routine. Naturally you can only do it when it is plausible to go near your mouth but until it is loaded you can talk...but the second it is loaded...well, you have a smoke like substance in your mouth.

So there's no method taugh to be able to talk between gimmick in mouth and smoke production?
granted, I'm not sure there's really a need for it, just curious.

just to clairify do you mean theres no need for the talking, if so then i agree, however if you load the smoke at an unatural time it can mess the trick up, you need to do it when both hands are busy so, you dont actually need to talk.

It's all explained on the DVD regarding the routine in the trailer, but with imagination you can actually add this into any idea of your own. It's simple and takes a second to load the smoke and the action can be a perfectly natural one. It can be done as you are reaching for something else from your pocket, such as the lighter used in the routine supplied.

I bought a regular electronic lighter and found that the insert thingies were a difficult colour but the same size and did fit. I can't remember the brand. I guess you try a few brands and possibly waste some of your money. But certainly at least one easily available brand fits.
