A Game To Try...

Postby Lawrence » Jul 4th, '12, 08:42

I had an odd conversation with Beardy last night; I sent him a text and he rang me back to discuss, we chatted for a few minutes before it became obvious we were both on completely different pages. But the conversation had revealed some interesting points anyway.

The text I sent him simply read.... "It's you isn't it?"

Then I thought it would be interesting to send the same text to a few other people and see what I get back

I invite you to do the same

Alternatives include texting your wife/girlfriend with the message... "I KNOW..."
Or "Where is it hidden?" to some random

FLEE! We are discovered!

If the spectator doesn't engage in the effect,
then the only thing left is the method.

I just tried this last night: I sent the "where is it hidden?" message to a friend and managed to hold up a 20 minute confused discussion before simply replying "bazinga".

This may be the most fun since... the last thing I found fun.

There have been several examples in fiction whereby someone writes to many different people saying something like,"I know all about what you've done, leave £200 behind the bus stop in the High Street and I'll keep quiet" and some people with guilty consciences have paid up!

I suppose an email campaign from a no reply address might be similarly successful..... not that anyone on TM would do such a thing, of course....

A prankster / anarchist friend of my dad's once told him 'Never waste a misdialed number, if someone calls your house and asks for a person you've never heard of, don't say 'wrong number' say 'He's not talking to you, and you know why', then hang up.'

I keep forgetting to do this when the opportunity arrises, but I live in hope.

Invoke not reason. In the end it is too small a deity.
