Babel Book Test by Vincent Hedan

Postby Caligari » Sep 11th, '12, 10:39

Hi y'all,
Does anybody have the Babel Book Test by Vincent Hedan? It looks pretty good from the video and the write-up, and has the added advantage that the book covers look like real book covers, rather than something somebody knocked up on their computer on a rainy afternoon.
Thanks,
Caligari

I don't have this but i can tell you that i have a book called MOABT and whilst it is expensive (US$350)', you would be truly thrilled with it. I complement the routine of telling the spectator of the word that they have chosen by getting a second spectator to locate it in the Oxford English dictionary after I instruct them to look up a page, column and line number.
It is a high quality hardback and is such a treasured item that i had a black velvet bag custom made to protect it.
MOABT2 is now out and comes in paperback. Also expensive (but worth it) but can be used alongside MOABT

I know this is an old thread but I just got this so thought I would give my opinion. Firstly it looks like a book you would buy in a bargain bin. Vincent supplies you with some artwork for printing out sale stickers you can put on the cover as an added convinced.
There is just so much you can do with this, they open the book anywhere and read out loud the fist twor three words, you can now reveal the page number, how many paragraphs there are, the number of lines of text in each paragraph etc. They look through the book and find a long word, you can reveal the word and exactly where it appears on the page.
This has easily become my favourite book test, its cheaper if you get it direct from Vincent, his price is €90 that price includes postage which is the cheapest I have been able to find.
If you are a fan of book tests this one won't disappoint you, its so very versatile and it has the flashback principle built in too.

No worries, we much prefer old threads to be bumped back into life like this with new thoughts and observations :D !
