Shazam!

Postby superbatprime » Feb 10th, '13, 17:31

Well that was a cheesy thread title, but we must soldier on!

Greetings humans, I am the Superbat Prime or as I am known in Japan, Most Excellent Supabatu-Prime Sama!
Last son of a dead world, sent to save... oh nevermind.

I'm Ben, I'm into magic, I used to be big into the online "scene" back when things like MCJ were causing waves and forums like sleightgeek were still active.
I dropped out of the whole internet magic thing due to overstimulation of my delicate senses an an overwhelming feeling that it simply wasn't really helping me get any better at actual magic.

After many years wandering the desert with only a copy of Burger's Mastering the Art of Magic to sustain me, I recently decided to have a look at the old haunts and discovered many were now defunct and that whole scene seems to have become less "in your face", which is maybe not such a bad thing.
I have been lurking about on a few forums reading and catching up and I figured since I would like to get back into the social and discussive (is that a word?) side of things again, I'd sign up here.

Because you all seem like quite nice people and I confess I overlooked this fine establishment back in the day, also I forgot my Magic Cafe password...

That was a joke btw.

So that's it, pretty tricky to actually register as there seems to be a sort of window you have to catch but I can understand the reasons for that.
There you have it, I'm back... which means nothing to anybody except me of course, although I suspect that some of us may have crossed paths (or indeed, swords) many moons ago.

Oh yes before I forget, my main shtick is cards and general closeup (except spongeballs, they scare me), I'm big into magic history and technical stuff and will tend to ramble disjointedly about Thurston and the best way to build a spirit cabinet until either I see something shiny (or perhaps a dog with a puffy tail) or somebody has the sense to pull the plug.

On the subject of Thurston, did you know th... oh look, a dog with a puffy tail!

Welcome to Talkmagic!

I too like looking at dogs with puffy tails, but if asked to build a spirit cabinet I'd probably wonder how many bottles it had to hold... (c;

Sorry about that but it helps deter the 200 or so idiot spammers who register overnight!

There's something, hmm, can't quite put my finger on it, but it tells me you're a comic book fan?

Welcome

Welcome

Holy center tear Batman! How could you possibly know that??
I can only assume you must be an incredibly skilled mentalist sir.

Thanks for the welcome dudes, Mandrake I can totally appreciate the need for that registering policy.
I'm sure it beats having to instigate a cybercidal bot war every time you log on.

Now I'm off to continue wading through the archives, there's some great threads in the Hall of Fame I'm reading atm, sad to say there's also quite a few broken wands I didn't know about. :(

Anyway, peace, love and justice for all.

welcome to TM !, I enjoyed your thread here , your personality and sense of humor are refreshing. Not that folks here don't carry those same qualities, but rather many in my actual world of reality do not. Just catching up lurking round here and came across your thread, it made me smile. :)
