I almost got arrested for this - FIRE MAGIC

Postby magicbymaddux » Jul 5th, '13, 16:32

Ok guys, I am starting to try and practice fire tricks and get into fire magic, but I don't know where I should practice it. Last night I thought it would be ok to practice it in public, because it was July 4th and I almost got arrested. My friend recorded a video of it and it is REALLY funny https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0bovhF9yr0

So where do you guys practice fire magic? Also, I am running out of things to try... what are some good resources for fire magic that could make what I was doing it that video look even cooler?

Thanks guys,
Always appreciate your help :)

Clearly not a good idea. Find a private area where you have permission to do such stunts and where there are adequate safety facilities for when (not if) things go wrong - which they will. Throwing flaming balls around is perhaps most foohardy as there is absolutely no control and someone will get seriously hurt.

I'm surprised you were not arrested in all honestly. I looked at the video and there did not seem to be any regard for safety for yourself or anybody watching. You were putting out the fire by kicking it around in flip flops. And in the first video the fire seemed out of control or at the very least could have easily gotten out of control.

My first piece of advice? Get some safety classes under your belt, there are plenty of places you can learn. Contact your local fire department let them know what you are interested in and they can send you in the right direction, (but I'm sure they will lecture you first). I know my advice will most likely fall on deaf ears, but rest assured you will re-think things when the surgeons are doing skin grafts on what is left of your flesh.

There didn't seem to be any fire blankets or extinguishers close to hand to put it all out when the police turned up. Its no wonder they were concerned about people's safety.

It might be a good idea to have some fire fighting equipment close by if you are going to practice this sort of act.
