Anyone not like needles at the dentist ?? Help is at hand.

I went to the dentist today for a filling and was asked if I wanted the traditional injection or "the wand".

Well, I'd never heard of it, but after everything was explained, I decided to go for the wand.
Its an alternative to the dreaded injection and is virtually pain-free ..... and it doesn't leave half your face numb.

Well, It was completely pain-free .... never felt a thing. It only numbs the tooth so you don't get half your face feeling numb.
Apparently, the pain of the injection is caused, not by the needle piercing the skin, but by the anaesthetic entering too quickly.

It's all explained here:

http://www.dentalfearcentral.org/help/technology/wand/

Anyway, I left the dentist after my filling, pain-free and no numb face.
If you don't like needles, I highly recommend this .........

Oh, by the way, I don't mind needles (just in case you're thinking I'm a wuss) .... it's the numbness of the face afterwards that's a pain in the ass .....

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

How long does the anaesthetic effect last? The good thing about the jab is that it lasts long enough for the nerve to settle down again.

I don't mind the jab at all because I've already had the deadening goo applied.

I'd say it's prob about the same as the needle.

To be honest, I couldn't really tell that my tooth had been numbed, as there wasn't the usual numbness of half of my face afterwards.

A few hours after the filling, I felt a bit of an ache in my tooth, but you'll prob get that with the injection - after all, my tooth had just been drilled out and filled, etc.
