I notice that the Birthday thread in the Dove's head is quite popular.

What would you think about a Birthday List sticky to be held in the Dove's Head that lists everyones (or at least everyone that wishes to be included) birthday.

I should add that this isn't my idea, it seems to be successfully incorportated on the Magic Bunny forum, and I see no reason why we shouldn't do the same thing - IF it is somehing that is desired...

aa but you could argue "Whats The Point" of avatars or "Whats The Point" of post counts? or "Whats The Point" of anything in this crazy fourm we call talk magic

I can see a few dozen extra posts each time I log on, each wishing the next a happy burthday but not contributing anything towards our magic.

I logged on at 18:45 this afternoon to some 30 or 40 new posts, having accumulated in less that 24 hours. Please, let's not dilute matters!

Avatars allow people to be a person rather than a user name by adding something unique to they're posts.

Post counts allow everybody to see how active you are on the forum, which can be helpful in deciding certain administartive issues.

However...

A Birthday list allows those who wish to to add their Birthdays to a list of fellow members Birthdays, breeding a sense of familiarity and fellowship as they wish each other a happy birthday.

I'd support this idea, its a nice addition to a friendly forum.

Perhaps it would be an idea to simply have members submit their birthdays via PM to the Admin team who will add the date to the list. Then Members can wish each other Happy Birthday on the day also via PM.
