I was trying to resist the temptation to add yet another gaffed deck to my expanding collection, but the outcome is not looking too rosy at present. I don't know why I bother.... Image

I agree with everything that Bananafish says.

What I've found is that females nearly ALWAYS select a low number so I always give them the uneven and first number to select. The other person needing to select the even number then needs to select highish, but because the of the low number I always say something along the lines of "let's make this more difficult, she's picked a low number so you go for number at the other end of the scale". They then nearly always pick something in the high 30's or within the 40's which is ideal and the force o the high numbers isn't noticed.

This is my favorite routine to perform at the moment bar none!

Peter Nardi showed me this (I will pause for a second) Before blackpool and yes it was impressive for the first reveal and the second then it just become a nothing effect in my mind. When I went back over it in my head.

I am master of misdirection, look over there.

We are not falling out young Welshy, we are debating, I think farlsy is an idiot he thinks I am one. We are just talking about who is the bigger idiot.

I prefer the Streamlined version, which is very powerful and gets great reactions with my audiences. The effect has a natural crescendo and if performed properly is good for a variety of venues and performances.

Just not my style then Dr, I try not to use cards much. Except the ESP type of course.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, I'm slowly loosing the battle not to invest in Trilogy, but...... streamline is now under £20 but streamline 2.0 comes in at just under £30 and has grown an extra deck a la trilogy bikes. Without giving too much away, is 2.0 worth the extra £10 and does it loose something with the 2nd deck (I take it you need to exchange half way through like the bike version).

Thanks

G

I perform Trilogy with one deck which is constantly in sight (there's youtube clip of Richard Bellars doing this). There are some adjustments, obviously, to the first two choices. "To make it easier for you.... it's an odd number and it's the lower half of the deck - i.e. between 1 and 25..." ... etc.

Using this 'limited' deck approach gives you some spare cards. Over the years I've bought two trilogy decks and one phill deck (not cheap I know), but I've now got six or seven options.

PM me if you need to know more (but only if you've bought the routine.... I'll test you!). cheers W

I use Trilogy all of the time - the two deck version on Bikes (is this Version 2?) and to be honest it's never crossed my mind to change to the streamlined version.

I've even made a Trilogy set up using Jumbo Bikes for Parlour and it's always a sure fire winner.

I recommend going for the cheaper version as regardless of the method (and V2 is very easy), it's what the audience sees that counts and they see the same routine whichever version you use.

I would be nervous about having to make adjustments during the routine depending on the number the audience selects whereas with the two deck version (odds and evens), all that you need to do is remember which deck is in which pocket.

Adjustments are early always spotted and look suspicious at the best of times.

Maybe I'm not being clear in my post (nothing new there!). There aren't any adjustments to the routine; it's just a slightly different routine. It's worth looking at the Richard Bellars clip to see what I mean - I should have posted the link, sorry, but google 'richard bellars trilogy' and you'll find it.

Anyway, that's enough from me, I sound as if I trying to force a point of view - I'm not.
