Available from http://www.ianrowland.com/lecturenotes/ for £20

There it says :
You get 74 pages comprising 8 complete routines plus ten routines from my ‘Loving Mentalism’ articles in ‘MAGIC’ magazine. Complete, clear and well-written instructions. No special props or gimmicks to buy. I send the Lecture Notes to you as a .pdf file, the same day you place your order.

Difficulty
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)

3 / 2 Well, there is a sleight taught at one point but this is mentalism without sleights in the main. So it's easy in that there's no real dexterity but it does require some effort to act.

Where to begin? If you're interested in mentalism and haven't heard of Ian Rowland then please do yourself a favour and look him up! He's a very inventive and clever man and writes in an engaging and approachable style that makes his notes a joy to read. His "what is mentalism" section at the beginning especially so.

The actual volume of material is the big plus - there's more than can be easily absorbed on one readthough. I've already tried the Birthday Matrix routine, at my magic club's stage competition. I didn't win but got very approving comments.

Several of the routines suggest to me ways they can be further customised to meet a theme or match a performance style, all of them are clearly very workable. There's no "this might work" or supposition going on, these are clearly effects he has tried and enjoyed with an audience.

This a mine I'll be pulling bits out of to try for some time, I can tell.

Overall - 10, amazing value for money.
