I've recorded Magic Man and have just watched the first four shows. Very formulaic with echoes of the magic travels of D.Blaine Esq. and some of the old favourite routines - Ash on Arm, Cig Thru' Quarter and even good old Healed and Sealed made an appearance. Not that there's anything wrong with those, especially when done well. I suspect some selective editing takes place at times and possibly a stooge or two but the big plus for me was that it was magic all the way and no padding with social comments or nattering on about friends and family like certain recent TV performers. Some repeated reveals with OTT audience reactions but nothing to worry about – apart from the over enthusiastic lady outside the San Francisco bookstore – far too eager to yakkity yak and join in!!! Interesting that this programme is called Magic Man and one of David Blaine’s programmes was similarly entitled as David Blaine – Magic Man….
Anywho, well worth watching and quite instructional as well as entertaining.
I’ve also recorded White Magic and will work my way through that asap…..
