I'm baffled. Sure, Blaine's got good hands but BOY! does he have a thing or 2 to learn about presentation. He simply waylays unsuspecting passersby with tricks. I get irritated to no end hearing his drivelling "Watch, watch this, look, look, yatta natter blah..." Side-show barkers at carnivals do at least as well but we're not giving THEM rave reviews. This overexposed poser could not hold a candle to performers like Jeff McBride and Eugene Berger - one major distinction lies in the fact that these latter know that putting mystery in magic requires more than a Van Dyke and a wide-eyed stare. I know I sound a bit harsh, but I learned about the intricacies of presentation from luminaries like J.N. Hilliard, Jean Hugard, Henry Hay and the like; DB seems never to have regarded such counsel.
