Eggs roulette

Postby MiKo » Jan 22nd, '15, 08:55

Hi folks. It is not crucial, but I would like to prepare a simple trick with a carnival theme. I have only a couple of weeks to get ready and any sleight of hand should be kept to the minimum, because if I'm doing it, I'm doing it for a French public, and speaking French is still a bit of a burden for me. It's for a magic club, so even if I'm not perfect it doesn't matter. I had thought of a Russian roulette effect with hard eggs and a single fresh one (in my home town they have this "nice" habit of throwing eggs around carnival), but I would like some help brainstorming for the method. I have a couple of ideas, but I would like to hear for opinions. Pm me freely or post here without too much exposition

I've done something very similar in the past, 4 eggs cups with 1 raw and 3 hard boiled eggs, marked eggs cups and a PATEO force. The chosen eggs were chosen one by one and broken over my head. It was only a silly bit of fun but went down very well.

Yes, that's one of my ideas, although since it would be a single trick for magicians, I had discarded it: most of them would understand from the very first moment what is happening and where everything is going. I don't think I can fool them, but I think that way would just be a bit too boring for everyone. I was thinking about using four hard boiled eggs and doing a switch at the end, so that I can stress more the russian roulette atmosphere (This comes to mind: http://youtu.be/y6jb0cOYqAI ) have someone from the audience more involved, instead to just call what eggs to break on my head

There is a nice little effect called the Telephone Bullet Catch from Banachek I think that could be adapted to this. Unlikely to fool any of the magi present but it plays quite well.

As I said, I have no intention of fooling them, as long as at least what I do is entertaining. Do you know where I can find it?

Never mind: I found it. Nice little principle.
