What's this move called please ????

Postby moonbeam » Jun 18th, '15, 23:39

It's doing my head in .... I know how to perform it, but I'm rusty, so I need a good polish .... trouble is, I can't remember the name of the move.

I'm holding 4 cards in my hand and I want to make it look like I'm turning all 4 of them over, whereas what I'm really doing is holding a break under the bottom 3 cards, flipping them over under cover of the top card, then turning all 4 cards over together, so it looks like I'm simply turning all 4 cards over, but the only card to get turned over is the top one. The object is to make it look like I'm showing both sides of all 4 cards, but the top card is the only card to have both sides shown - the other 3 cards only have 1 side shown.

Any ideas please ????

I know exactly what you mean but can't remember the name either. I'm pretty sure it's described in Royal Road if that helps at all.

I'm sure (hopefully) that someone will pop along soon who'll remember what it's called, otherwise I'll have to resort to looking through the RRTCM DVD set and/or the book until I find it.
I think the usual way for this move to be executed is to spread all 4 cards and you flip the bottom card as you close the spread back, but I need to flip the bottom 3 .... same difference I suppose ;)

.... just had a thought - I hope it is in RRTCM - then I won't have to buy any further material in order to "re-learn" this move :)

.... just for the record, I've remembered .... it's called the Asher Twist :)

I'm a little late to the party, I use the move all the time for a twisting the Aces effect, the only difference is I'm turning just one card over at a time under the spread, rather than holding one and turning three. The move however doesn't change. The key, if you don't know is keeping your knuckles pointed to the floor
