:) I hope the doorway is not too narrow or the shop. Keith B is, or was when I last saw him, a BIG fella. he certainly cou;ldn't squeeze in a Zig Zag.

When it is time for my work experience, I am going to try and get it in Tam Shepards, my nearset magic shop in Glasgow that is owned by Roy Walton. :D

Thetford.

Postby Kryzal » Oct 12th, '05, 20:03

Now lets be honest. Thetford is not a lovely place. It is on the A11 about 30 miles south of Norwich. It has a castle which doesn't exist (!) and factories that make (or used to make) Jeyes Fluid and Thermos Flasks - not all bad then. But there is a "real" magic shop which is also online at www. aquarius-magic.com. Don't expect cheapo £1.99 tricks and phone to check the opening times first. What do you want? Toys or "real" magic - it's a shop for pros and despite my limited knowledge of magic I would recommend them from my stage work. Kryzal x

Oh bu**er!

Postby Kryzal » Oct 12th, '05, 20:05

So I'm new to this! Replace the "click here to visit" with www. You don't need me to tell you that! I had a brain once but I used it all up. Diamontes are pretty though aren't they? Kryzal x

Hate to dig this up, sorry but Trev in Toquay is amazing, i went to his shop and he is really hekpful and friednly. I went there about 3 days ago and he now shares his shop with a poker player so it is a magic/poke shop. He gave me his mobile number and he said that a website will be up soon, i think i'll text him and then post the website here.

Slippery, did you pick up his contact card? If not, do you want his mobile number? It's for sales of items or for bookings but he said that his site'll be up so I'm gonna text him like next week. He has a sort of alter name 'Zak', i don't know why but to me he'll be good ole Trev Stone. There was also an AMAZING magicican when i happened to go there one day (whilst on holiday) and both Trev and this other guy kept performing tricks on me which i really couldn't understand how they were done. Then, another magician came in and they all seemed best friends, if you just turn up to the shop they'll give you demonstrations; it's more of a little place for the magicians to hang out now. It's definately worth going back as the shop that you probably saw (the small one on the right next to the door) is now shut and Trev has moved to a slightly larger one.
I bought card-toon when i was down (which i never saw before:D) but decided to go back to hi shop the next day, because he knew i bought something before he gave me about a £5 discount and a free trick. This guy is amazingly kind and also remembered me from last year. (I go to Brixham near Torquay in Devon quite alot, about 2 or 3 times a year, some of my family used to live there.)

I told him i'd be back and he said that he's lookin forward to it and he expects a performance from me :? Damn, i need to come up with some sort of routine, any suggestions? lol

Hi Delude..

Yep.. I have his card somewhere.

Actually I was born in Torquay and only moved away about 8 years ago so I regularly visit friends and family (plus my Dentist is in plymouth so I need to pop back to see him as well from time to time).

Only trouble is I don't always have time to pop into see trev everytime I visit. Should be going sometime soon though (in the next month or so) so I'll pop in then. He'll probably remember me as the "one from maidenhead" as he lent me a cups and balls video of his when I bought some from him last year and I had it for ages (not that that was a problem.. but I was a little worried about it as he didn't know where I lived or anything.)

Anyway.. maybe we will meet at some point in there..

Who knows

Just to add latest info to http://www.talkmagic.co.uk/ftopic5933-0-asc-15.php, the School of Wizardry is going strong in Great Yarmouth and is now open 9 to 3pm each day, possibly later if required.

Well, since 2006 of course, the School of Wizardly has closed but In Great Yarmouth recently I spotted the last vestiges of the old School of Wizardry. One of the shops in Regent Road had a small selection of stuff bearing the name - Decks of Cards, Packet Tricks and so on. I didn’t have time to see much and I can’t remember the name of the shop but if you stand looking at a shop called Vogue, it’s two shops to the left and sells fancy dress costumes etc! (For those who don't know, Regent Road is that long road stretching all the way from the sea front to the indoor shopping mall, full of souvenir and knick knack shops!)
