Looking for a magician to photograph

Postby Charlotte Barnes » Oct 2nd, '15, 15:47

Hi everyone. I hope it's okay to post this here, but I'm looking to find some local magicians to photograph and this would appear to be a good place to start. Please accept my apologies if I've posted in the wrong board.

My name is Charlotte Barnes and I'm a commercial photographer from West London. When I'm not shooting commissioned work, I do a lot of self-initiated projects and one that I'm going to be working on this winter is some portraits of magicians. Most of these will be taken in my studio in Ealing, but I also really like to shoot on location.

I've got a bunch of ideas for the portraits; everything from using high speed flash to capture cards, ribbons and other props flying through the air, through to dark and moody shots with cigarette smoke and lots of atmosphere. I'd love to shoot some street magic and I'd very much like to work with people who break the usual mould of 'magician' or don't fit the expected demographic (in particular, women, younger people and black and ethnic minority performers). The way in which I shoot someone will very much depend on their personality and their act and I would be really happy to work with each person's idea of how they see themselves.

All of the work would be done on a collaborative basis with no money changing hands in either direction. You get a bunch of top notch images to use for your website, books, promo materials or whatever and I get to meet and photograph some fantastic people.

The best way to get in touch with me is to drop me an email and all my details, social media feeds and whatever are on my website.

Cheers

Charlotte

Well, I've emailed and heard nothing back... And phoned and texted the number on her website, and it's just not getting through!

Anyone else made contact?

I could certainly use some decent photos...
