2 deck tricks

Postby artychris » Oct 30th, '15, 02:35

I have to apologise... I hate this sort of question... But...

What are your best/favourite 2 deck tricks?

I'm looking for something where one of the decks can have been used previously (so borrowed/shuffled crtierea apply!) and will have some sleights, but nothing to ridiculously complex...

Any ideas?

Seconded. The Encycolopedia of Card Tricks has a whole chapter of variations on this, but the simplest version is a stunner and all you need.

I've never learnt a 2 deck trick which I thought was worth the effort of carrying around an extra deck.

But I used to carry an ID, so I came up with a 2 deck routine using a normal deck and an ID.
I also really liked Myth by Mark Grey which requires 2 decks - I stopped performing it because I really didnt want to carry an extra deck.

Do as I do is incredible. I love that trick. But since I learnt a version using just 1 deck split in half (I do Wayne Dobson's incredible version), I've never used a 2 deck version again.

If I happen to have a second deck I sometimes do a simplified variation of Chad Long's "Shuffling Lesson" with 2 decks and with 2 spectators having a deck each.

So many card tricks that one can make amazing that only uses one deck. So I stick with those.

Thanks for all the answers! Do as I do is indeed a classic! And for good reason!

And Bmat, you're completely right, all you need is one deck... But as I've usually got a second deck kicking around in the bottom of the bag, I though I'd see what the best ways to make use of them both could be.

FTHO, I'll look in to Myth! It's a great name for a trick :)
