Dynamo lottery trick

Postby Johnny Wizz » Mar 7th, '16, 10:36

I don't usually ask this sort of question but a gig opportunity might hang on this.

Friends went to see Dynamo in Sheffield last week and as they tell it he did a trick where he had six "random" numbers called out and then produced a lottery ticket from his wallet with those six numbers on it. Possibly as non magicians some of the description isn't accurate.

Does anyone know this effect and if so is it something I could buy? As I say, I don't normally jump on to this sort of thing but this time I do have a good reason!

I'm not sure of Dynamo's exact version but it sounds a lot like Colin McLeod's Lottery routine which is on his Opening Minds DVD.

I've also done something similar with the help of a certain little Indian guru ;)

As I understand it he received random numbers from the audience then pulled out a printed Lotto ticket with those numbers on it. Colin McLeods is somewhat different. I do like the idea of using the small Indian gent though. I presume in this case you are showing a lottery entry form with the selected numbers pre marked on it?

I think you're talking about The Lottery Illusion.

If you want an examinable lottery ticket with the named numbers on it... look here: http://cesaral.com/shop/en/home/59-cupp ... ction.html

Although you could achieve much the same result in a much cheaper way!

Mmm. I don't think Mrs Wizz will see this as an acceptable expenditure! So if you could point me towards the much cheaper way I would be very grateful. This would however seem to be the probable answer to how Dynamo achieved his result!

See Koran's Medallian for a cheaper alternative.
Could be reworked to a lottery ticket.
