Name This Trick?

Postby Cannae Divulge » Jun 24th, '16, 15:33

hi,
I've been doing this trick I saw Jerry sadowitz do on 'the pallbearers revue' s 'Roy Walton Moment' years ago.
Ive no idea what its called although I suspect its a Walton effect. Despite the name, I dont think they were completely all his tricks.

The effect is basically:
you take half the deck and the spectator takes the other half. He shuffles his half as you appear to do the same.
The 2 halves of the deck are then tabled back to back and ribbon spread to show theyre properly mixed and facing in opposite ways. The spread is then closed.
The spectator is astonished to see that as you peel the top and bottom cards off simultaneously they are all pairs matching in colour e.g. KS/KC, 7D/7H, JH/JD, etc.
-----
Hope that makes sense!
Ive worked out my own version of it from memory but If anyone can tell me what its actually called I'd be eternally grateful.
Cheers!

Sorry - I don't know this effect. But even if it's not one of Roy's he's probably aware of it. Why not pop into his shop and ask him? He's pretty friendly and encouraging, and you could show him your version of the effect.
If it is one of his, it may be in one of the 3 "Complete Walton" volumes, and if you don't have the specific volume already, you could pick up a copy and have the man himself sign it.

I'm also going to be of no use to you. I've seen Bob Elliot perform this, but he has since passed away. He even taught it at a lecture but for the life of me I can't remember how or the name. I'll think on it for awhile, perhaps it will come to me.

I'm in town tomorrow so i'll pop into Tam Shepherds & see if the man himself is in!
I'll post up the name when I find it.

But on the bright side, I can name it right now. I now dub this trick 'Elisha' there it has been named.
