I will be leaving the talkmagic forums but just wanted to say a huge thank you first to all those who have answered my posts over the years. You have been very helpful! Unfortunately my conscience does not allow me to be part of a forum that cannot discuss magic suppliers who are taking people's money but not sending them the products they have ordered. All i can say is if you are using a different supplier to buy your magic goods from compared to the ones you usually use then research them on the forums first or you run the risk of being ripped off. Maybe i expected more from talkmagic but to lock a topic that is genuine and could prevent others suffering the same issues is for me too much. Thanks again for everyone who has helped me through this forum. Very much appreciated.

Sadly, Neil, you have missed the point. I thought I had explained the legal implications of posts which were going too far but apparently not and for that I apologise. Your thread started well and I'm sure we are all keen to see the situation resolved satisfactorily but the thread needed to be factual and that last link to an out of date FB rant by others full of unsupported and undetailed accusations meant the thread had to be locked as per TM policy which applies to all posts, not just those concerning suppliers. All the rest of your comments were left intact and are still on view so I think we were quite fair.

We are sorry to see you go, we wish you well and sincerely hope your situation is resolved soon.

In the old days before the internet things were a lot simpler. If you did not receive your merchandise within a reasonable time the usual procedure was to complain to the magic magazine where you saw the advertising. They would contact the company with the complaint. The company was under pressure because the magazine would refuse their advertisements to protect the reputation of the magazine. Abra was particularly alert to this kind of thing I remember.

Alas with the internet things become more problematic. I would tend to avoid dealers I have never heard of and keep to the ones that have been around a long time. And you have to be very careful with the one man dealers. Some of them are probably OK but all too often they get into a bit of financial trouble and get into a bit of a disorganised mess with the customer paying the price. It is very rarely intentional just bad organisation more than any thing else. A lot of the one man dealers are professional performers who travel and don't send the stuff until they get back from out of town. This kind of thing causes delays and upsets and of course professional perfomers are not always the best of businessmen.

Anyway I hope that Neil can resolve his problems.
