DVD Cleaning

After a recent rummage through my magic cabinet i have come across Derren Browns 'Devil Picturebook'

I noticed the dvd cover was all screwed up so it must have been wedged somewhere, When i checked the dvd's to my horror they are scuffed :shock:

Does anyone know what the best way to clean them would be? I could provide pictures to show the extent of the damage if needed.

I do not want to test them yet in case i cause more damage

I remember polishing up CDs with Turtle Wax years ago, I wouldn't like to say if that'd work with DVDs though.

Probably of no help whatsoever but I seem to recall Ronco or KTel used to sell CD cleaning kits which included a sort of turntable device and fluid which you used to 'resurface' the discs. If only they were still around!

Have you tried watching it to see if it is actually damaged?

I haven't had time to check it yet, i just assumed since there were marks it would not play. I will give it a whirl when i get home. If it doesn't i will try one of the products listed

Not all of the dvd is used and they can take a pretty good beating and still work. And yet a piece of dust in the exact wrong spot and its toast.
