Courtesy of http://www.magicdaily.co.uk:

On Sunday 13th November, Jeremy Le Poidevin passed away in hospital. The news was first reported on Facebook by his stepson Ian Jackson.

Magicians will know Jeremy as the owner of Practical Magic, regularly seen demming behind the tables at Blackpool convention, amongst many others. He was the co-creator of the childrens magicians only convention Kidology, and more recently the enormously popular “Trix in the Stix” convention.

The practical magic website has the following notice:

Unfortunately, on Friday morning Jeremy was taken seriously ill. He is being treated in hospital with Cheryl at his bedside. We ask for your patience and support at this difficult time and while we will do our best to keep our loyal friends and customers informed the family request that you respect their privacy. Online ordering continues to be suspended.

Everyone at Magic Daily sends their sincere condolences and thoughts to his wife, Cheryl, and his family and friends. There is no more information at this time.

Ian has asked that everyone please continue to respect their privacy at this most difficult time.

    Jeremy Le Poidevin R.I.P.
    --------------------------------------------
    Message by Quentin Reynolds (UK)

Jeremy Le Poidevin took ill with a brain haemorrhage and passed away two
days later on Sunday 13th November. His sudden passing at the age of 62
has shocked all who knew him.

Jeremy and his wife Cheryl took over Practical Magic twenty years ago
and built it into the world's leading supplier of children's magic. He
was always ready to help and advise, and many who are now professional
entertainers acknowledge his help and encouragement.

As an organ donor, at least five people's lives have now been
transformed and given a new lease of life, just as Jeremy helped
transform others with his magic in his lifetime.

Ordering from the website and by phone is suspended for the moment.Trix
in the Stix, the convention for children's entertainers run by Jeremy
will still go ahead next May as planned.

The funeral service will be held at St Matthew's Church, Criftins,
Shropshire SY12 9LN on Monday 28th November at 1pm, followed by the wake
at a nearby venue. The cremation itself will take place earlier in the
day and is for family only.

Cheryl and the family would like to thank all who have sent condolences
and kind thoughts at this sad time. They are very much appreciated.
