Working Magician Section

Postby Mianon » Jun 28th, '05, 10:36

I was thinking after reading the post about a section for childrens entertainers.

And i came up with this idea.

Why not have a whole new section for proffesional magicians like anyone who does magic for a living.. or is thinking about performing for a living.

The section would be very helpful and inspirational for younger magicians like myself, and would give us a place to ask all questions we may need to be answered.

This section could have a board for :

Childrens Magic
Bar / Resterant Magic
Stage Magic
Street Magic

Etc....

What do you guys think of the idea??

Ben

Thanks for the suggestions, all of them will be discussed as soon as possible. Creation of any new 'Rooms' would really depend on whether they would be used and supported enough. Magic Cafe is a huge place with many, many sections and rooms but it could be that such divisions aren't really needed here yet - it's all Magic of one sort of another. Much to discuss, methinks!

Not sure why those very same questions can't be asked within the forums we already have?

if you have a section for them then all the questions and answers and advice or whatever will be in a easy to find place not scattered accross the forum which noobies might find hard to well find stuff they want or need.

ben your idea is one that sounds good yet the problem then is that most of the questions are really the same questions that are asked anywhere in the forums...now for the convenience of finding the answers i guarantee you the search bar is a much quicker and better option :P

Yeah I agree with Happy Toad and zigzag on this one I think - you've only got to use the search function and type in 'stage,''street,''restaurant' or whatever and Robert's your Mum's brother.

I must admit though, I would love to go pro...

the mods could always gather the links and post them in a thread under each section if that would help prior to a new section.
or someone with some time to spare could do it possibly

I think it would be nice but on a smaller scale.
Instead of all those small ones forum things just one big one called " Magicians advice" for example and people would ask a question such as "what are the ups and downs of being a professional street magician" and a street magician or some one with the that can answer the question would post back.

but advice is pretty much the only thing that goes around here...even have a look in rewievs section and you'll see tons of advice on handlings and performances or even advice on what to get and what not to get...
