FREE Stage Magic Show with Magician Paul Howes

Magician Paul Howes is offering us a FREE sneak preview of some never-before-seen stage magic in preparation for his forthcoming magic tour of theatres in the South-East.

Preparation for the show begins at 7.30pm with Paul taking to the stage around 8.15pm. So get to the Boathouse Cafe and Bar in Barking nice and early to secure the best FREE seats. Enjoy some bar snacks and a fantastic selection of craft ales and cocktails while you wait. Then be prepared to be amused and amazed in equal quantity.

After the Stage Magic, the evening continues with more drinks, magic chat and some really funky background tunes. And when Paul the magician reappears I am sure we will be able to persuade him to show us some close-up table magic whilst he canvasses our opinions of tonight’s stage show. That's the main purpose of tonight's free event!

The Boathouse is a lovely venue with amazing views over the boats and barges on the River Roding. Bring your camera to capture some of those views at sunset from the Boathouse Terrace. You are also welcome to take and share photos of the stage show. However, as this is a FREE preview of a series of much larger paid events, we would ask you to refrain from taking videos or using apps like Facebook Live or Instagram Live. Your cooperation is appreciated.

This event is designed to appeal to a family audience so older children are more than welcome to attend. The venue also has a disabled car park, lift and spacious disabled toilet. Call Derrick the Cafe owner on 07907987177 if you get lost or need disabled access.

Directions

Take the number 62 bus from outside Costa Coffee opposite Barking Station.
Get off at Gascoigne Primary School.
Walk forward in the direction of the bus and cross the road at the zebra crossing.
Turn right at the children’s nursery and walk straight for 300 yards down a side road called the Shaftesbury’s until you reach Abbey Road.
Turn right again and continue for 100 yards until you see the Nisa Convenience Store opposite.
The Boathouse Café and Bar is located in the Courtyard behind this store.
Go up the outside metal stairs in the corner of the Courtyard.
Call Derrick the Cafe owner on 07907987177 if you get lost or need disabled access.

Entry is FREE but do get there early for the best seats.
