Amsterdam - Magic Shops

Postby vic_vdb » Jul 21st, '05, 22:15

May very well find myself in Holleand for a day soon. Anyone reccomend magic shops in Amsterdam - I have a friend who purchased die kubus speil there but they can't remember the shop's name or location.

Want a good shop, not jokes, novelties and toys.

Any help most gratefully received,

Vic

Hi Vic

I don't have any idea of where you could go but may find myself there for a long weekend over the next couple of months. If you do find anywhere, can you post the opening times? I'm not sure if their shops are open as freely as ours over the weekend.

Consider it done. Plus of course a full report of things magical found whilst there,

Nah, it's all legal and above board in this country =o)

As long as they ain't prepared in any way (ie. Dried).

Not that I know anything about that sort of thing... just read on some website some place, I guess! =oP

As a technicality though, picking them can be counted as preparation!

Point noted.

For the sake of "UK Law", "prepared" means anything other than them being in their "as picked" state.

No drying, no tea, no nothing.

You can happily sit and pick them, in front of Mr Policeman. Hell, even sticking a few in your mouth as you go! He can't do owt about it. Well, not as the law stands at present, anyways....

And once again, I'm gleaning this information purely from the *ahem* internet..

I might have to try that. Anyway, this thread seems to have been hijacked!

I have a friend what works with frogs and toads at a famous animal place and he says that licking toads is better actually!

Now that's a really weird thought to start my day off - now back to Amsterdam I think :-)

Hi I visited Amsterdam in February, and wanted to see if there where any magic shops etc. I tried to find out before I went through web searches etc. but could find none. If you find one please let us know.

Anyway I think if you stop off for a coffee in a suitable coffee shop, you will have a magical experience of your own!

Well - have been and can say that I found nothing in Amsterdam!

A couple of magic shops sold monkey masks and party stuff but nope - not in Amsterdam I was told.

Pity, would have made a great holiday awesome :-),

Hi Vic,
Kinda pleased that you could not find anything, beleive me I spent a long while hunting around trying to see if there was anything there! I was kinda suprised that there was not. Nice place though isnt it?

However when we went I found many people who were very willing in the coffee shops and bars that liked to be entertained. We visited the hard rock cafe and I was suprised that there was not even a resident magician there.

Pleased you had a good time anyway.
