But you should now know that we are happy to help you learn tricks that you already own by giving advice on improving your handling. However, we don't 'teach' by giving away secrets!

As you've stated - you got tips but you will not get new tricks unless you look at the magic for sale section

I've got this great idea for you on building gimmicks - go to your stationers shop and buy some sheets of white card and cut them into 52 equal sized rectangles. Then get a black or red marker and .............

People almost always find forums when they are looking desesperately for something...

If you enter the forum,... and for example ask for a trick:

"Please tell me how do I make myself dissapear..."

He/she is going to get lots of... That´s not the way this board works...

So he/she sooner or later will leave...

So I think is our task to keep the leechers away...

I´m new here as you can see in my number of posts...

I´ve never asked for a trick,... Actually I´ve made a video teaching a flourish and before posting it I asked if I can do that... I got a no for an answer... And I got the point...

I mainly try to help people...

Conclusion (this is getting too long)

If you are a horse, you will stay with horses,... if you are not,.. then you are going to feel that you not blind in and you will leave...

Not restriction needed... Just common sense.

It´s over... you may go and drink your pepsi now... :D

P.S: MiniMindFreak: start painting As of spades 2 of spades 3 of spades... want me to go on?

I agree with NEJ. At the end horses stay with horses, leechers desperately searching for answers will eventually move away from this forum. I found this site when I needed hints and tips what to get, as I actually wanted to learn stuff. I've got alot of help from this forum so I decided to stay. If I just had been passing by searching for an answer to a mindboggling magictrick I would have been on another forum already, and forgotten my pass/acct to this forum.
And as a new member I haven't had any troubles finding what I've searched for (except what comes to users, see my post on "Forum request") so I don't think a beginners area is really needed.

I hate to rain on your parade but the Secrets Area doesn't divulge stuff either. There are some full routines etc under discussion but they're original items, not those which are commercially available or other people's property. In any event, the secret of a trick isn't the main aspect - it's how you perform it, the patter and body language you use, the place where you perform it etc. In other words, practice, preparation and presentation. All this things which you can apply to any standard trick out of any basic magic book to turn it into true magic.

I Have to say Mandrake, it is so nice to "read" you say that.
There is so much work that goes into each illusion I perform and I feel it goes unnoticed at times. the Illusions I do are bigger, Like zig zag, sub trunk, Origami, ect. I practiced for months and months on each trick to get just the perfomance down. Its just nice to hear someone say there is more to it than the trick itself. I realize this is totally irrelevant to the subject but I just had to tell you thanks!

As a beginner myself I don't think this is a particularly good idea, if only because it has caused me to go to sections of the site and read posts that I might not have done and wouldn't have learnt half as much as I have :!:
